    Nature

    the colours of the seasons

ENVIRONMENT AND LANDSCAPE

Nature is a constant travel companion along the Balteo Trail: the profile of the mountains embraces the gaze, the gurgling sounds of the waters of the streams and waterfalls cross the trail, the colours of the vegetation change with the rhythm of the seasons and the different exposure to the sun.

You will also find protected natural areas to preserve particular environments and ecosystems.
If you are lucky you will meet the wild animals that populate the woods: squirrels, hawks, foxes, roe deer ...

THINGS TO SEE

LENTENEY WATERFALL

It is worth a stop at this fascinating cascade of water that you meet along the stage 14, in the territory of the municipality of La Salle.

WILDLIFE PARK

From April to November in Introd village (along stages 15 and 16) you can visit the "Parc Animalier" and see the animals and plants of the alpine environment up close.

THE BUTTERFLIES OF PONT D’AEL

At Aymavilles (stage 17) the environment surrounding the ravine dug by the creek allows you to observe an interesting variety of flora and fauna including numerous butterflies.

THE COOLER IN THE ROCK

At Erésaz (Emarèse), along stage 6, there is an area with an interesting geology: a lake that does not exist and a cavity in the rock from which freezing air blows out even in summer.

THE GEOSITE OF BARD

The hamlet of Bard, dominated by its famous fort, combines its architectural beauties with an interesting geological site and ancient rock carvings.
