The itinerary enables you to visit the characteristic dwellings buttressed in the steep slopes of the lower Gressoney valley and reach the saddle that connects the high hamlets of Perloz and Arnad and the historical Machaby Sanctuary.
The meadows in front of the hill contain one of the rare peony sites in Val d’Aosta. The plant is rigorously protected by regional laws and blossoms spectacularly in the first half of June.

Route

The itinerary starts in the hamlet of Marine, part of Perloz, which is reached by going up the paved road which, from Pont-Saint-Martin, connects Perloz, Marine and Pra. Near the dwellings, take the mule track, sections of which follow the path, while others go along the road, and connects the villages of Crestaz, Faye Dessous and Pesse Désot. Continue towards Pesse Damon and, take the path near a stone cross that leads leftwards over the meadows. go past the Fenêtre Damon cabin, then continue winding up inside the wood, until you reach Col Fenêtre.
