Pila overlooks the city of Aosta, with which it is linked by an 18-km-long scenic road that is always open and by a brand-new eight-person gondola lift that will take you to the runs in just 18 minutes. A fully “skis-on” resort, Pila offers direct access to the lifts from all the hotels and tourist apartments.
70 km of slopes which run from the 1540 m altitude of Plan Praz to the 2750 m of the Couis 1, offering visitors breathtaking 360° views that range from Mont Blanc to the Grand-Combin, from the Matterhorn to Monte Rosa. Lift facilities with a total hourly capacity of 23,225 people provide access to an extremely varied ski area, renowned for the superb condition of the runs, which has plenty to keep everyone happy, from beginners right up to experts. The Areaeffe Snowpark at the Grimod cableway, served by a four-person chairlift offers plenty of fun for snowboarders and freestylers. The Snowpark is divided up into two sectors, one easier and another more challenging, where riders will find rails, box rails and fun boxes, linked up with various snow structures and kickers of up to 17 metres, and an authentic jibbing route over 500 m long. There is also a great sound system with just the right kind of music and an area where beginners can give freestyle a try in complete safety. Especially – but not exclusively – for children, Pila also boasts a lively, colourful ski school with play facilities and a magic carpet (for children aged 4 and up), and at the resort younger visitors will also find two mini-clubs, a bob and sledging area with magic carpet and an Adventure Park with routes of varying difficulty. Families are especially well catered for here, with special discounts and offers available.
