Off slope - descent of the Toula glacier

This beautiful, off-slope descent is on Col di Toula allows you to arrive to Pavillon and weather permitting, up to the mouth of the Mount Blanc tunnel, with a difference in height of over 2,000 metres. The descent (12 km) is reserved for good skiers and offers routes with high mountain features on a glacier. There is a variety of descent itineraries.

You quickly reach Colle del Toula at a height of 3.440 m.: from here, in a few minutes you can go down the metal stairs that leads to the glacier, where the descent begins among the crevasses and channels up to the slopes that lead to the mid-way Pavillon ski resort.

Minimum level requested
Itinerary reserved for good skiers who are comfortable on the black slopes with bumps and on all types of snow, those who want to start skiing off slope or any skiers used to skiing off slope, perhaps without style but with good control of their skis.

Equipment: ARVA (avalanche search equipment), shovel, probe.

N.B.: The high mountain routes are neither sign-posted nor controlled, therefore they are to be treated as mountaineering or Alpine skiing routes and should be faced with the necessary preparation and equipment. If you take these routes without mountain guides, you will do so at your own risk and danger.
