Maison Vagneur is a small agricultural and storytelling enterprise situated in the municipality of Saint-Nicolas, at an altitude of 850 metres. The business was founded out of a desire to preserve and reinterpret the family’s history, combining Alpine tradition with a contemporary sensibility. It is family-run business: Palma Faggiano oversees the creative, agricultural and storytelling aspects, whilst the family helps with seasonal activities. The ‘Chantè’ micro-vineyard is the symbolic heart of the estate.

DOC Whites: Muscat Petit Grains, Aromatic Traminer
DOC Reds: Syrah

There is no shop on site, but products can be purchased by prior arrangement or during visits. 

The visit

Visitors tour the Chanté vineyard and the surrounding agricultural areas. The estate can only be visited by appointment, to be made via email or WhatsApp at least 48 hours in advance. Tastings can also be arranged, subject to booking.  

Minimum number of visitors required for a tour: 2, maximum 8

Spoken languages: Italian, French, English and Spanish

Accessibility

Access to the estate is limited: the vineyard is on natural sloping terrain; you must arrive by car, after which the space between the rows allows for easy movement.

How to get there

By car: coming from Aosta, follow the signs for Saint-Pierre, then take the road to Saint-Nicolas and continue on the SR22 for a few kilometres; finally, take the road on the left and follow the signs for the hamlet of Lyveroulaz. 

By public transport: from Aosta, take bus no. 514 (Aosta-Saint-Pierre-Saint-Nicolas) to the “Evian” stop, then continue on foot for about 10 minutes
