The Quendoz
Resorts: Jovençan
A family-run farm situated in the municipality of Jovençan, just a few minutes from Aosta, The Quendoz specialises in the production of cheeses – in particular Fontina PDO – and traditional Aosta Valley cured meats. Alongside its production activities, the farm has its own shop and the ‘Agribar’, a space where visitors can sample the farm’s produce accompanied by wine, craft beer or local apple juice. During the summer months, the farm moves to the mountain pastures in Vetan (Saint-Pierre), where production of Fontina PDO from the mountain pastures continues.

Cheeses: Fontina PDO, Fontina PDO from the mountain pastures, long-matured Fontina PDO, cream butter, Rebletzen de la Vallée d’Aoste, Quendina (cheese flavoured with chives, chilli or thyme)
Cured meats: sauseusse, boudin, mocetta, lard, salami, coppa, pancetta

- Wednesday: 10am – 12pm and 4pm – 9.30pm
- Thursday: 10am – 12pm and 4pm – 9.30pm
- Friday: 4pm – 9.30pm
- Saturday: 10am – 1pm and 4pm – 9.30pm
- Sunday: 10am – 1pm and 4pm – 9.30 (afternoons only during the summer)

The visit
The visit, which can be done from October to May, takes in all the production areas: the barns, the dairy and the cellars. At the Agribar, adjacent to the farm, you can sample the farm’s produce (cheeses and cured meats), accompanied by wine, craft beer or apple juice. It is possible to take part in the tastings only, without joining the guided tour, during opening hours. Booking is recommended. During the summer, guided tours (without tasting) are available at the Chatelanaz mountain pasture in Vetan (Saint-Pierre).

How to get there
From Aosta: follow the SR20 regional road towards Aymavilles until you reach the roundabout in the hamlet of La Fournaise (Jovençan). At the roundabout, take the road uphill to the left towards Jovençan and continue until you reach the chapel. Turn left towards the hamlet of Pessolin: the farm is located along the road.
From Aymavilles: follow the SR20 regional road towards Aosta until you reach the roundabout in the hamlet of La Fournaise (Jovençan). At the roundabout, take the road uphill to the right towards Jovençan and continue until you reach the chapel. Turn left towards the hamlet of Pessolin: the farm is on the left.
