Aosta is preparing to become the capital of mountain carnivals, hosting the masks of the Aosta Valley tradition in the great afternoon event with the spectacular parade of carnival and historical groups.
The Carnevale di Montagna (Mountain Carnival ) sees all the ritual carnivals (the most famous being the Coumba-Frèide) and all the historical carnivals, where events or situations from the past (such as those of Verrès, Pont-Saint Martin, Nus, Quart) of Valle d'Aosta are re-enacted in the centre of Aosta in a grand carnival rite.

- Aosta old town centre from 3 p.m.: Grand allegorical parade of historical groups, masks and characters from the Valle d'Aosta Carnivals
- Piazza della Repubblica from 4.30 p.m.: Party with the Masks and Characters of the Carnivals with Romeo and the Cooperfisa
- Hostellerie du Cheval Blanc 9 p.m.: Carnival closing dance party with the Lady Barbara Show Orchestra - Free admission
